Home / New patients
New patientsEverything worth knowing before you walk in: what to bring, how long it takes, how claiming works, and the paperwork for DVA and workers' compensation.
First visits run longer than a standard appointment; allow around 40 minutes. The sequence: your history, a physical examination, a plain-English explanation of what we found, and treatment at that first visit whenever it's clinically appropriate. If an X-ray is warranted at Mooloolaba, it happens on site the same day.
Wear clothes you can move in. Activewear is ideal; jeans are workable; a suit will survive but won't thank you.
If your extras cover includes chiropractic, HICAPS processes the rebate on the spot: you tap your health fund card and pay only the gap. How much comes back depends entirely on your fund and level of cover, so a quick call to your insurer before the first visit removes the guesswork.
Most of our patients simply book privately: no referral, no approvals, no waiting. Choose a time online, come in, get treated. It's the fastest way into the clinic and the way most people use us.
We treat DVA card holders under their arrangements, and see workers' compensation patients once a claim is accepted. Bring your claim number and we'll take care of the reporting that insurers require. If you're mid-claim and unsure where things stand, call first and reception will untangle it.
Current consultation fees are listed with each practitioner on our main site, so they're always up to date: absolutehealth.net.au. No referral is needed to book as a private patient, and there's no joining fee and no lock-in packages.
If you can't make an appointment, a morning's notice lets someone in pain take your slot. Same-day lists usually have a queue behind them.
And if something about your health changes between visits (new symptoms, new medications, a fall), mention it before treatment starts. Small details change clinical decisions.
Book online at either clinic, or call and reception will match you with the practitioner and time that fits.
