Questions & answersEverything patients ask before their first visit, collected in one place. If yours isn't here, phone either clinic. Reception has heard it all.
No. Chiropractors are registered primary healthcare practitioners, so you can book directly at either clinic. Referrals only matter for two funding routes: DVA arrangements, or an accepted workers' compensation claim.
Whichever is the easier trip. Same team model, same standards, one shared patient file, so you can switch between them whenever it suits. The one asymmetry: the on-site X-ray suite is at Mooloolaba, so a first visit likely to need imaging is smoother there.
Fees vary by practitioner and appointment type. We keep the current list on our main site rather than letting this page go stale: see absolutehealth.net.au. Both clinics have HICAPS, so private health rebates are claimed on the spot and you pay the gap.
Adjustments are quick and generally painless. Most people feel relief or a stretch rather than pain. The pop is a pressure change in the joint fluid, the same thing as cracking your knuckles. It isn't bone on bone. Prefer to skip it? Low-force techniques get to a similar result without the sound.
It depends on the finding, and anyone who quotes a number before examining you is guessing. A recent simple joint sprain may settle in a couple of visits; a long-standing disc problem takes longer. What we promise: a plan tied to the findings and reviewed against your progress. When you're ahead of it, it shortens.
The honest answer is sometimes 'both' and sometimes 'it depends on the examination'. Because our clinics run the two professions together, you don't have to get the guess right before booking. Start with either, and if the findings suggest the other, the handover happens inside the same building.
At Mooloolaba, usually yes: the digital suite is on the premises and imaging happens the same visit when it's clinically indicated. At Nambour we refer to radiology providers in town, typically a short wait. Neither clinic X-rays routinely; there's a defined list of reasons we image.
Treatment adapted for pregnancy (modified positioning, gentler techniques, no pressure through the abdomen) is widely used for pregnancy-related back and pelvic pain. Tell us how far along you are when booking, and we'll coordinate with your GP or obstetric team if there's any question.
We assess and treat younger patients. Sporty teens with load-related complaints and heavy school bags are the typical cases, always seen with age-appropriate techniques and a parent in the room. If a young person's problem belongs with a paediatrician or physio instead, we'll say so.
Something you can move in. Activewear is perfect, work clothes are usually fine. You won't be asked to change into a gown for a standard visit.
Mooloolaba: yes. There's free secure parking under the clinic building itself, with lift access up. Nambour: street and off-street parking within a short walk of Howard Street, which in Nambour terms means easy.
Both clinics run Saturday mornings: Mooloolaba to 12:30pm, Nambour to 12:00pm. They're the most popular slots of the week, so book those a few days ahead rather than on the morning.
Then you'll hear exactly that at the first visit, along with where to go instead: our physiotherapy team, your GP, or imaging, depending on the findings. Part of the examination exists to catch the presentations that shouldn't be adjusted. You won't be strung along; it's the fastest way to lose 374 reviews' worth of trust.
Online bookings show live availability at both clinics. Or call: Mooloolaba (07) 5478 2333, Nambour (07) 5441 4768.
